The Tasmanian Thornbill is endemic to Tasmania and the islands of Bass Strait. It is a medium sized thornbill very similar to the Brown Thornbill, with which it is often confused.
Tasmanian thornbills are found around much Tasmania where there is well developed understorey. They feed mainly on insects.
