Strong-billed honeyeaters (Melithreptus validirostris) are endemic to Tasmania.
The Strong-billed Honeyeater is the larger of the two Tasmanian Melithreptus honeyeaters. It is predominantly grey/olive green with a black and white head and has a distinctive white crescent across the back of the neck.
Strong-billed Honeyeaters feed mostly on insects, but will also eat nectar and fruit.
