Shining Bronze Cuckoo
Shining Bronze Cuckoos (Chrysococcyx lucidus) are found in eastern, south-western and south-eastern Australia, including Tasmania.
The Shining Bronze Cuckoo is a medium-sized birds, coloured coppery-bronze on its head and neck, with iridescent bronze-green back and wings. Underparts are white with copper-bronze bars across chest and belly. They feed on a range of insects and their larvae, including caterpillars, beetles, flies and ants.
Shining Bronze Cuckoos are only found in Tasmania during the spring and summer breeding season. They migrate northwards for winter.
