Scarlet Robin (male)
The Scarlet Robin (Petroica multicolor) is a medium-sized robin. Female Scarlet Robins are brown above with a whitish frontal patch and an orange-red breast, brown wings and white underparts. Males have a black head and neck with a conspicuous white patch above the bill.
The Scarlet Robin is found in south-eastern and south-western Australia. It can be found from south-eastern Queensland, along the coast of New South Wales to Victoria and Tasmania, and west to South Australia and south-west Western Australia. It feeds mainly on insects and forages on or near the ground.
