One of Australia’s most popular and iconic birds, the Laughing Kookaburra’s (Dacelo novaeguineae) call is instantly recognisable. The Kookaburra is the largest species of the kingfisher family. Laughing Kookaburras are found throughout eastern Australia and they have been introduced to Tasmania. They mostly feed on insects and small reptiles, but mammals, frogs and birds may also be eaten.
