Endemic to Australia, the Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) is Australia’s rarest waterfowl.
Freckled Ducks are found primarily in the south east and south west of Australia. They prefer permanent fresh water swamps and creeks but move to lakes, reservoirs, farm dams and sewerage ponds in drier seasons.
