The Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra) is recognised by its prominent white bill and forehead shield. Food is obtained during underwater dives along with grazing on land and on the surface of water. In Australia, Eurasian Coots feed almost entirely on vegetable matter, supplemented with only a few insects, worms and fish.
