Australian Shoveler (male)
The Australian Shoveler (Anas rhynchotis) is found on wetlands throughout Australia.
It is a duck with a heavy, square-cut, shovel-tipped bill. Males have deep grey-blue head with a vertical white crescent between the bright-yellow eye and the bill. Females are mottled brown with a dark brown eye.
The Australian Shoveler using small grooves, or lamellae, on the sides of its bill to filter small aquatic invertebrates from the water.

Postage and packing: Images are supplied in an archival sleeve, packed in a tube and posted via Australia Post mail with tracking.
